Benjamin Blake ~ In The Company of Killers

We sit in wing-back chairs
A fire gently crackling in the hearth
An open bottle of Italian red
Our glasses half-filled
We share stories and make plans
Delve into particulars with subtle pleasure
Discuss our favorite Modigliani
And exchange tips for sharpening knives
The brush stroke, and blood spill
It is all art
If done correctly
