Dawnell Harrison – VEXING

The vexing purple twilight
Renders colors spilling

Onto the earth’s floor
Wave upon wave of light.

Behind blinds, storybook
Villas encompass palm

Trees and lemon trees
In California’s colorful

In the morning a quartz

Clear sunrise creeps up
Inch by inch as the orange
Juice sun rounds out the day.
